I have essential experience and education in ecosystem conservation, and animal science. While working with biological surveys, and surveying for reptiles and amphibians in my spare time, my passion quickly becomes evident to those around me. I make my work my life, giving me the drive and work ethic necessary to pursue research on our environment, and those who inhabit it.

Growing up outside of Philadelphia, my upbringing enabled me to follow my dreams, and pursue my passions. From playing original music, to painting, to hiking, I'm driven to explore the world and learn all I can. I also enjoy reading, learning new instruments, meditating, and all sports.

MY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER, VERMONT CENTER FOR ECOSTUDIES

OCTOBER 2024-PRESENT

Developed species distribution models (SDMs) of native species across New England and southern Canada at present and under climate change scenarios to inform biodiversity conservation efforts and test existing conservation priorities within Vermont. 

GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT, BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY

AUGUST 2020-AUGUST 2024

Conducted research on effects of landscape change on amphibian diversity and local stakeholder willingness to engage in conservation action. Engaged several laboratories of non-science major undergraduate students in lab lecture and exercises involving basic biology and environmental science, developed additional lab exercises to stimulate student experience. Developed and administered examinations.

GRADUATE STUDENT/TEACHING ASSISTANT, ST. JOSEPH'S UNIVERSITY

AUGUST 2017-JULY 2019

At Saint Joseph's, I was able to design and successfully carry out numerous experiments in regards to my thesis: "Effects of high Salinity concentrations on body condition and growth rate of hatchling Diamondback terrapins (Malaclemys terrapin)". I also led the development of a new method to assess shell calcium retention in turtles, to assess health and growth rate. I was also elevated from Teaching Assistant after my first year to Adjunct instructor with my own lab section in Environmental science.

STUDENT RESEARCHER, DELAWARE VALLEY UNIVERSITY

MAY 2016-MAY 2017

I undertook an individual research project involving endangered Pennsylvania frogs and toads, created and executed the project, and was the primary author on the research proposal, and finding paper. In addition, I am the lead technician on a Pennsylvania herpetological survey in Spring 2017, and contributed to the research proposal.

ANIMAL CARE INTERN, PHILADELPHIA ZOO

JANUARY 2015-JUNE 2015

I was responsible for the care, enrichment and well-being of over a dozen animal species in the Children's Zoo portion of the Philadelphia Zoo, including Prehensile-Tailed Skinks, multiple Birds of Prey, and livestock.
